Why did they install a traffic signal at the intersection of Brannon Stand Road and Fortner Street but not any turning lanes? They actually made the congestion worse because now, a single left turner stops an entire direction of traffic for the entire light cycle.

A: The traffic signal is a temporary fix while Alabama Department of Transportation engineers come up with a more permanent solution.
